Reprocessed, Off-Gauge & Secondary Steel
Prime, off-gauge and secondary flat-rolled steel, graded and processed into cost-effective raw material for SMEs and MSMEs.
Reprocessing, and why it pays
NCO processing — commercial, off-grade and secondary flat-rolled material — is one of the three business activities the Company is built on. Material that mills and large OEMs set aside is inspected, sorted, sheared or slit in-house, and matched to the application it can genuinely serve, giving price-sensitive MSME buyers dependable input at a structural cost advantage.

- 1Sourcing & aggregation
Off-grade, surplus and secondary coil is aggregated from domestic mills — JSW, Tata Steel, AM/NS India — and from reputed manufacturers across China, Japan, Korea, Europe and Germany, alongside recovered scrap channelled in through RegenX.
- 2Inspection & grading
Every coil is inspected for surface condition, thickness variation and coating integrity, then graded so it is only offered against applications its condition genuinely supports.
- 3In-house reprocessing
Graded coil is sheared or slit on the Taloja lines to the buyer's exact size, removing the defective margin and converting an unusable coil into usable, dimensionally correct sheet or narrow coil.
- 4Application matching & despatch
Digital matching pairs each processed lot with a buyer whose end use fits the grade — drums, pails, general-line packaging, MSME fabrication — and despatch documentation carries the grade record with it.
- 95,000 MTPA
- Installed shearing capacity, Taloja
- 2,00,000 MTPA
- NCO + prime processing, post all phases
- 5-15%
- Cost advantage versus prime material
- 150 → 300
- Active MSME/SME customers
Off-gauge, off-grade and surplus — explained
ValueMart is the Avighna Group's B2B buyer marketplace. Published prime, secondary and coated inventory is listed openly with grade, quantity, location and HSN, so a small buyer sees the same information as a large one. Buyer accounts are verified before activation, and buyer sign-in leads straight into ValueMart — the same session Inventim recognises on the operations side.
Material outside the ordered thickness tolerance — usable where the application's gauge window is wider than the original order's.
Chemistry or mechanical properties outside the certified grade, though consistent and documented within its own band.
Surface, coating or edge defects from the mill process — sound steel with cosmetic or partial-width issues.
Prime material surplus to an OEM's cancelled or over-ordered schedule, sold at a discount purely because it is unallocated.
What we do to it
- Inspection and grading against the intended application
- Shearing to remove defective margin and recover usable width
- Slitting to the buyer's exact coil width
- Blanking where the buyer wants form-ready parts
Every lot carries its grade record and, where available, the original mill certificate. Reprocessing off-grade material back into use displaces virgin steel tonne for tonne — the lowest-carbon steel available is steel that already exists.
Grading and discount bands
| Grade | Condition | Indicative discount | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | Prime surplus — no defect, unallocated stock | 3 – 5% below prime | Any application the prime grade covers |
| B | Minor cosmetic marks, full gauge and width | 5 – 8% below prime | General line packaging, non-visible fabrication |
| C | Edge or partial-width defects, sound centre | 8 – 12% below prime | Narrow slit coil, pails, drums, brackets |
| D | Localised defects requiring shearing before use | 12 – 15% below prime | MSME fabrication, short-length sheet, components |
Prices are indicative and shown only where the marketplace publishes them. Final price is confirmed against grade, quantity and despatch location at order stage.
