CR (Cold Rolled)

Cold rolled steel is the base flat-rolled product behind most downstream processing — rolled at room temperature to a tight thickness tolerance and a smooth, clean surface suited to forming, stamping and further coating.

What Avighna does with CR (Cold Rolled)

How it is made

How CR (Cold Rolled) is made

Hot rolled coil is pickled, then rolled again at room temperature to bring thickness down and surface quality up.

  1. 1
    Pickling

Hot rolled coil passes through acid baths that strip mill scale off both faces.

  2. 2
    Cold reduction

The strip is rolled at room temperature through a tandem mill, reducing thickness and work-hardening the steel.

  3. 3
    Annealing & temper rolling

Batch or continuous annealing restores ductility; a light temper pass sets final flatness and surface finish.

  4. 4
    Shearing or slitting

On our Taloja lines the coil is cut to the exact sheet length or coil width the customer's press needs.
