What Avighna does with GI (Galvanised)
How GI (Galvanised) is made
Cold rolled strip is cleaned and drawn continuously through a molten zinc bath.

- 1Cleaning & annealing
The strip is degreased and annealed in a reducing atmosphere so zinc can bond to bare steel.
- 2Hot-dip zinc bath
Strip passes through molten zinc at around 450 °C, alloying a protective layer onto both faces.
- 3Air-knife coating control
Gas jets wipe the surface to hold coating weight to specification, in grams per square metre.
- 4Skin pass & processing
A light rolling pass sets the spangle and flatness; we then shear or slit to the ordered size.
