Metal Offset Printing

Metal offset printing puts brand artwork, colours and regulatory text directly onto tinplate or tin-free steel sheets before they are made into cans. Sheets are first coated with a base lacquer, then printed colour by colour through offset rollers and cured in ovens, finishing with a protective varnish.

Printing on flat sheet gives sharp, durable graphics that stay intact through forming, seaming and filling, and removes the need for paper labels. Accurate registration matters: the print must line up with where the sheet will be cut, curled and seamed, so the design sits exactly right on the finished can.

At Avighna we print sheets up to 950 × 1200 mm in 2-colour and 4-colour runs, on thicknesses from 0.14 to 0.50 mm. Every job is colour-checked against your approved proof, and printed sheets can go straight to our own can line, giving you one supplier from plain sheet to printed container.
