Tin Aerosol Cans

A tin aerosol can is a pressurised container that releases its contents as a fine spray, foam or gel when the valve is pressed. Most metal aerosols are three-piece tinplate cans: a printed cylindrical body, a domed top that holds the valve cup, and a concave bottom that resists internal pressure.

The body is side-seam welded, necked and flanged, and the dome and bottom are double-seamed on. Because the can holds propellant under pressure, seam strength, wall thickness and internal lacquer compatibility are critical, and every can is leak and pressure tested before it leaves the line.
